In my study, I would like to examine the factors influencing the transition from unemployment to employment based on the applications received by the public employment services (PES) in 2020. Re-employment depends on both our individual characteristics and the regional situation in the labor market. The latter, as a result of the economic recession and the regional structure of labor markets in Russia, may to a greater extent determine the opportunities for employment. Based on the EGP class scheme, I would like to compare the employment chances of individuals from different social classes and how they are related to the regional labor market and active labor market policy budgeting. Based on multilevel logistic regression with random effects I found that social classes are splitted on non-manual workers with similar chances of re-employment and manual workers with skill-based chances of re-employment. The regional labor market diversification is beneficial for all unemployed.
