Migrant Children in Russia and Need for Educational Integration Support

The school is an institution that has great potential in solving the problem of integrating migrant children into the host society, but in Russia this potential remains unfulfilled At the same time, large-scale studies conducted in Russian schools did not reveal the mass need of migrant children for language or other (educational, social, psychological) support. However, a number of organizations that help migrants offer integration programs for students who face problems in their educational and social life. The analysis of the experience of such organizations allows us to more accurately assess the scale of the request for integration support for children among migrants. Based on a series of interviews with experts, it was determined which categories of migrants (depending on ethnicity, country of origin, migration experience, socio-economic and demographic characteristics) apply for integration support for their children; a quantitative assessment of the need for integration programs was performed
