The Impact of Digital Technology on Organization Competitiveness (HSE University Case)

The work touches the sphere of digital transformation which is becoming a huge part of the general strategy of different companies. Technologies implementation in organisations’ activities changes radically principles of competitiveness on markets. The goal of this work is to identify factors and processes of digital transformation which will form competitive advantages. The tasks to achieve are about the literature analysis and definition of digital transformation in university. The object is HSE University, the subject is factors which influence on the competitiveness of the educational institution. The research design includes several stages: literature review, interview with project managers of HSE Digital Department, the stakeholders’ analysis and benchmarking which helps to describe best practices of technologies implementation in universities. The key results of the research are new competitive advantages and their sources which come from the digital transformation. They are divided on three groups: products, service and platform. The first ones are connected with talent development, the second ones touch the conditions of educational process and the last ones help to use data for management and decision-making. The outcomes of the work would let managers apply the relevant information and experience in their organisations.
