Thematic Diversity of Everyday Oral Discourse

The work is devoted to the study of the thematic diversity of oral discourse. This work examines the features of oral discourse and the main principles for determining the topic of everyday spontaneous conversation. The main part of the work is empirical research. It examines and analyzes the episodes of fifty informants based on the material of the corpus of oral speech in the Russian language "One speech day". In the course of the study, the main hyperthemes of everyday communication were identified. Each hypertheme includes many microthemes. The most important results of the study are the following: 1) the frequency of occurrence of various hyperthemes in everyday communication was obtained, 2) the results of a survey of native speakers conducted to determine the most frequent topics of oral communication were obtained, 3) statistical data were obtained on the duration of conversations on a particular topic. The results obtained can be used in the further study of the thematic diversity of oral discourse and can also be used in research related to linguistics sciences and for solving a number of practical problems.
