Subjective Well-being of a Student at the University: for Example the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia Herzen University

ABSTRACT The scope and structure of the graduate qualification work (master's thesis). The work consists of an introduction, which outlines goals, tasks, methods and hypotheses of the study, two chapters and conclusion. The first chapter considers theoretical sources, based on which seven factors of student's subjective well-being at the university are identified and two definitions of the concepts "subjective well-being" and "agency position" are formulated. The second chapter presents the results of the empirical study, where the first hypothesis was fully confirmed and the second hypothesis was partially confirmed. 4 significant factors of student's subjective well-being at the university were identified. The conclusion presents the main findings that can be made on the basis of the obtained data and information for the university administration on the outcome of our study. The volume of the work is 143 pages, it includes 4 appendices, 3 pictures, 5 tables. The paper uses 77 sources, including normative legal acts, scientific articles, electronic resources and other publications of Russian and foreign authors. Key words: subjective well-being, agency position, university, administrative concern, factors of subjective well-being. Brief characterization of the work. The topic of the study: "Subjective well-being of a student at the university: on the example of the Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University". Purpose of the study: To determine the significant factors of student's subjective well-being. Subject of the study: factors of students' subjective well-being. Object of the study: university students' community. Type of work: research. Research methods: theoretical: analysis of theoretical sources and literature; empirical: included observation, semi-structured interviews, survey in the form of questionnaire procedure, essays, factor analysis; qualitative and quantitative data processing procedures: narrative analysis and content analysis of interviews and essays in Atlas.ti, Cronbach's alpha coefficient; interpretation using triple verification. The conclusions drawn in this study can be practically applied to the organization of work in the university aimed at creating the well-being of learners.
