The 2021 HSE Best Lecturer Competition has summed up its results. Sixty-six lecturers became winners in two categories and five in three, including Daniil Yesaulov of ICEF. Olga Shikhantsova is a Bachelor’s graduate from the Faculty of Economic Studies (FES) and a Master with a degree in Financial Economics, ICEF. Despite the pandemic and the travel restrictions, HSE University continues to hire international faculty members. Runjie Geng, from China, joined HSE ICEF in 2020 as Assistant Professor. As last year, master's thesis defenses have been moved online at ICEF. Defending their papers were thirty-six majors in Financial Economics. The thesis by Varvara Ushakova, titled The Impact of Economic Incentives on Dishonesty, earned special mention of the board as unique among its kind in HSE’s history of thesis defenses. ICEF introduces a new system of scholarships and financial awards for its Master's in Financial Economics enrollment 2021. The scholarships are merit-based and will be awarded to ten best performing students. The scholarship funding available in 2021-2022 academic year totals RUB 750,000.

HSE University is renting a 27-storey block of a new apartment complex, Level Amurskaya, located in the Golyanovo District of Moscow. Only university students will be accommodated in the building, and they will have their choice of renting a single studio or a shared apartment. This agreement is another step towards HSE's transition to a service model for accommodating nonresident and foreign students as part of the University Development Program until 2030.
