HSE lecturers and research fellows who plan to teach open optional courses and/or elective (MAGOLEGO) courses during the 2016/2017 academic year can submit applications until February 15.
MAGOLEGO is the name for the general set of elective subjects that must be chosen by first-year Master’s students in their second semester. Any school or department can apply to teach these courses.
The initiator of a MAGOLEGO course should follow the instructions to register it.
Applications will be processed by March 1. A committee will review applications and compile a list of subjects recommended for MAGOLEGO by April 1. First-year Master’s students will choose MAGOLEGO subjects in September 2016. A course will be taught provided at least 30 students register for it.
Open optional courses are courses in a variety of subjects, which HSE students can independently choose. Optional courses are also open to staff members or any other interested individuals.
The initiator of the course should follow the instructions for open optional courses and submit an application by February 15.
Applications will be processed until February 20. The list of the open optional courses funded from HSE’s main budget will be determined by March 10.
‘We would like all HSE lecturers and research fellows who plan to teach a MAGOLEGO course or an open optional course to familiarize themselves with the application process,’ says Olga Tarabaeva, Head of the Degree Programmes Development Office. ‘These courses are taken into account when calculating a lecturer’s total workload.’
