All Student Events in One App

An initiative group of HSE students has launched an application called Voronka that will keep users informed about the most interesting events organised by student associations and HSE faculties—from major forums to local presentations.

The application uses a recommendation system, which selects events based on the user’s interests. These can be specified during registration, for example: art, sports, music, dance, and much more.

Event organisers may use a special web service with a range of useful functions: event registration, the ability to track and analyse visitor statistics, and send push notifications.

To follow the current events, download the app on iOS or Android. If you are an organiser and want to post your announcement on Voronka, submit an application to the project support Telegram bot @voronka_app_bot. Subscribe to the Telegram channel and Voronka community on VK to stay updated on the news and app releases.

At the moment, the application is available only in the Russian language.

Since the first year, I have had a strong desire to create my own IT product that would be useful to society. At the beginning of the second year, after several brainstorming sessions within the ‘Start-up as a Diploma’ minor, my future co-founder Konstantin Bagryanskiy and I came up with an idea of creating an app for students and event organisers. They could use it to view a lot of aggregated events—from small gatherings to large-scale championships organised by student communities and HSE faculties.

The HSE administration supported our initiative and provided opportunities for its development, including integration with MyHSE Services Account, support in internal communication channels, and advertising at events. We signed a cooperation agreement with the HSE University.

At the moment, all the main services in the pilot version of the app covering events at the HSE campus in Moscow have been launched. We are currently working on improving the quality and performance of the product (app + web service for organisers), fixing technical issues, and attracting organisers and users.

In the future, we plan to connect HSE campuses located in other cities to the app, and then to offer our product to best universities in Moscow and Russia in order to expand interuniversity networking.

Our mission is to enrich students' lives, fostering career and social development, whilst creating lasting, vivid memories.
