The HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge designed the Business Digitisation Index which measures the rate of entrepreneurial sector organisations’ adapting to digital transformation in Russia, European countries, the Republic of Korea, Turkey, and Japan. The index is calculated on the basis of the following five indicators: broadband internet access, use of cloud-based services, RFID technology, and ERP systems, and participation in e-commerce.

IQ.HSE presents a brief review of the new HSE ISSEK analytical report 'Business Climate in the Russian R&D Sector: Doing Science'. In particular, the publication notes the fact that heads of universities and R&D organisations were not worried about shortage of young researchers, despite the persistent trend of ageing research personnel.

The 13th scientific seminar “Modern Demography” was hold on 7 February. At the seminar, Evgeni M. Andreev, Ph.D., head of the International Laboratory for Population and Health (NRU HSE) made a presentation on “Demographic Indicators in the May Decree of the President”.

Dmitry Veselov, Associate Professor at the HSE Faculty of Economic Sciences, presented his paper "Migration of Russian settlers and the legacy of interregional development in Kazakhstan" at another session of the regular Research Seminar on Diversity and Development.

A new book by the Member of the WVSA Governing Board Pippa Norris (Harvard University, Massachusetts) and WVSA Founding President Ronald Inglehart (University of Michigan, Ann Arbor) “Cultural Backlash: Trump, Brexit, and Authoritarian Populism” is being published now by Cambridge University Press.
