The Higher School of Economics joined the Asian STI Think Tanks Network at the 4^th Asian Innovation Forum (Taipei (Taiwan), 9-10 July). HSE was represented by Mikhail Gershman, Deputy Director of the Centre for S&T, Innovation and Information Policy of the HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge.

ICSID research fellow Denis Ivanov took part in the 22nd Annual Conference of the Society for Institutional and Organizational Economics that was held in a Montreal business school (HEC Montréal, Canada) on June 21-23, 2018.

ICSID researcher fellows Israel Marques and Noah Buckley participated in the 8^th Annual General Conference of the European Political Science Association (EPSA) on June 21-23, 2018. This year’s EPSA conference took place in the Apothecaries’ Wing of the magnificent Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna – a UNESCO world heritage site.

On Wednesday, June 20 the all-Russian seminar "Mathematical methods of decision analysis in economics, finance and politics" was held. G. Penikas gave a lecture on "Modelling Fraud Operations within Agent-Based Model of Russian Banking System"

At the end of May, one of the largest South African cities Johannesburg hosted the 10^th anniversary BRICS Academic Forum 'Envisioning Inclusive Development Through a Socially Responsive Economy'. Liliana Proskuryakova, Director of the HSE ISSEK National Contact Centre for International Academic Mobility, presented the Russian initiative to establish BRICS Energy Research Platform.

The Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS) together with EACES and the Academy for Civic Education (APB) organized their 10^th Joint Summer Academy on Central and Eastern Europe. The event titled "Firm Behavior in Central and Eastern Europe: Productivity, Innovation and Trade” took place in a German town of Tutzing on June 11-13, 2018. ICSID research fellow Irina Levina presented her research project on decentralization of firms "Does firms' decentralization pay off in weak institutions setup? Decentralization and investment of Russian firms" during one of the panels.

7th Annual Conference of the International Center for the Study of Institutions and Development (ICSID) «Political Economy of Development: Historical and Contemporary Factors» took place at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow on June 7-9, 2018.
