Moscow Navigation Maps now in the Metro

New information maps, which will help both residents and visitors with public transport navigation have been installed in the Moscow metro.

New information maps, which will help both residents and visitors with public transport navigation have been installed in the Moscow metro.

As part of a pilot project city navigation systems have been installed in Okhotny Ryad, Teatralnaya, Ploshad Revolutsii, Lubyanka, and Kuznetsky Most metro stations. Moscow metro passengers can find convenient information panels with exit numbers and maps of the neighbourhood showing the key sights and local infrastructure. The sights are drawn as 3D objects, and the format of the map allows passengers to easily work out where they are and how to get to where they want to go. Important names and objects have been translated into English. In the near future, maps with details of changes between stations will also appear in the metro.

In addition to that, a newly formed police department for tourists, which has recently started to patrol the Moscow streets, will help visitors with navigation in the city centre.
