From July 15 to August 7, 2016, a festival of jam is taking place all around Moscow. Thirty three festival sites located in central Moscow and in all of the city’s administrative areas sell honey, fruit, nuts and souvenirs, as well as 200 varieties of jams, including such exotic sorts as lilac, chamomile, rose petal, dandelion, honeysuckle, coffee, chili, and aubergine jam. Guests of the festival can also participate in about 1,000 creative and athletic workshops.

This year May 1 in Russia is not only Labour Day, but also Orthodox Easter. Moscow offers a wide range of activities at its spring festivals, from classical and bell music, to arts and crafts fairs and birdhouse-making master classes.

On April 14, 2016 at 19.00 the Faculty of Communications, Media and Design in cooperation with the International Office of the Faculty of Economic Sciences will open the exhibition ‘Aenigma’ by Eduardo Fiorito – leading Italian photographer who works in the direction of conceptual and narrative photography with a specific focus on nature and environment issue.

The HSE’s Sona Hovsepyan Dance Company has won the grand prize at the Klyuchi (Keys) experimental dance festival, also taking home a cash prize and the right to perform and premier an original show at the 2017 festival.

A series of lectures to help foreigners understand more about Russian Culture continues on March 4, 2016, with a talk about Moscow’s early Soviet architecture.

On 10th February the exhibition of light installations, holograms and OptoClones®, ‘Magic of Light’ organised by ITMO University, St Petersburg and the Hellenic Institute of Holography opened to the public at the Saltykov-Chertkov mansion on Myasnitskaya Ulitsa. Skiing and skating are great choices for winter Moscow, but indoor sports, such as table tennis, remain popular whatever the weather. Fans of table tennis now have the opportunity to play for free at Tsvetnoy mall in the city centre.

VDNH, a huge exhibition space with lots of beautiful Stalinist architecture, monuments and museums, has recently been renovated. This winter it offers a wealth of attractions including a skating rink and some remarkable exhibitions.
