HSE Competition to Support Student Initiatives Kicks Off

The Student Initiative Support Centre has announced that applications are now being accepted for the 2016 Autumn Student Project Competition.  There are no limits to project themes; they may involve an adaptation or media project, as well as cover sports, cultural or social topics. The main idea is that they are supposed to bring an improvement to HSE. Applications can be submitted by both individuals and groups, but projects must be led by an HSE student.

HSE Online Courses Will Be Available after Coursera Platform Update

On June 30, the world's largest online education platform Coursera is switching to a new website offering a reduced list of available courses. Only those courses that are outdated and which the platform’s partner universities have not decided to renew will be eliminated. Any users who have yet to complete these courses are advised to download the remaining lectures and to self-study.

HSE Best Teachers Election Starts

From May 30 to June 19 students can vote for HSE’s best teachers of the academic year. This year there is no need to come to the university to vote. Students and alumni can submit their scores online via LMS.

International Criminal Moot Court 2016

On April 28 th  and 29 th , 2016, an International Criminal Moot Court took place at the HSE Faculty of Law. A moot is an imitation of a procedure at the International Criminal Court, where students represent sides of the process (the prosecutor, the representatives of the aggrieved side and the accused country), and the judges are invited lawyers from Russia and European countries.

HSE Receives Free Access to Dozens of Online Library Databases

The Higher School of Economics has been announced as one of the winners of an Education Ministry competition and from April the Ministry will fund access to dozens of digital resources. Deputy Director of HSE’s Library Vladimir Pislyakov talks about what e-libraries are accessible to the university’s staff and students. 

IQ.hse.ru to Communicate HSE’s Research Capabilities

The Higher School of Economics has launched IQ.hse.ru, a new research and educational website containing articles featuring the results of the most interesting research carried out by the university staff, as well as video lectures, presentations of academic papers, and recent books.

HSE Timetable App Updated

The updated app helps you find your way to your class, open the schedule in a click and find out the language of a lecture or seminar.
