The theme of my graduation paper is: «Reception of Antiwar Movies in English and Russian film criticism». In my work I`m planning to describe the process of film-criticism` evolution in Russia with help of another theoretical works and comparing of Russian and English movie reviews. The object of the study are film reviews on Kubrik`s movies, dedicated to antiwar idea («Paths of Glory (1957), «Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964) and «Full Metal Jacket» (1987))The subject of this research is comparing analysis of Russian and English movie reviews for identifying of distinctions in work styles of different film critics. Also I`m going to analyze the history of Russian criticism in the post-Soviet periodThe aim of the study includes: to reveal the specifics of Russian criticism from 90` to nowadays; to identify its distinction from English criticism; to make a formulation of main problems in Russian criticism; to find solutions. The main research methods that I`m going to use are comparative analysis of Russian and English texts and expert interviewAccording to the hypothesis of the studying Russian film criticism is in crisis which could be overcome only with help of example of western film school. The graduation paper is divided into three parts. The first chapter is devoted to historical aspect of film criticism in Russia, Great Britain and USA. The second one contains expert interviews and critic`s opinion about film criticism. The last chapter consists of comparative analysis of English and Russian film reviews. At the result of my research I didn`t prove my theory, because it was obvious that the market of criticism in Russia, Great Britain and USA can`t be so simply compared. Because of government policy regarding media there are absolutely different situations on this market and it won`t be enough just to take some principles. It`s necessary to work with the whole media system.
