The problem of a career construction has become a vital issue for the discussion in the mass media and in the academic circles in recent years in Russia, Europe and the USA. There are some employment system aspects such as work history, an employment contract, a place of work, working hours and wages that were standardized in industrial society. People worked in the same profession and were often in the same organization until their retirement. Nowadays traditional organizational career is increasingly discussed in modern. There are new forms of precarious jobs as a freelance, which involves many activities. This new flexible form of employment begins to replace the traditional ones in the labor market. Within the graduation project we tried to explore what types of careers are now popular in finance, checking if there is some influence of global social trends of the post-industrial society on this field of labor market, or if this field is successfully resisting the changes, representing at the same time a kind of "Bastion" traditional organizational employment. The sector is rapidly developing in recent years and the popularity and the prestige of the profession "Economist" in our country is still growing. Young people choosing this field of study hope to get a high salary and stable job in the future, for example in large banks. However, regular economic crises and the general instability of the modern Russian economy can seriously affect the real opportunities of graduates of economic faculties, or they can choose a different, non-standard type of career. In order to answer all of these questions, we conducted a survey on careers in the financial sector of young economists in St. Petersburg. Within the bounds of the survey, we collected 15 semi-formal interviews with young economists of different types of employment. Based on the transcript analysis we identify three types of career pathways. 76 pages, 2 appencies
