Summary Relevance of studying of use of skills in workplaces is dictated by requirements of employers for effective workers, and also need of decrease in expenses on training of effective workers. Optimization of expenses for education is connected with a clear understanding of educational targets. Studying of interrelation of level of functional literacy and use of skills in workplaces became a research objective. Studying of the concept "functional literacy", the analysis of approaches to measurement of functional literacy, including, in the PIAAC project became the main objectives; studying of category "skills in a workplace" in modern researches, including, in the PIAAC project; studying of interrelation of functional literacy and use of skills in workplaces by means of methods of mathematical statistics. By results of a research in general, skills of communication and reading can be referred to the most demanded in work. Despite "a century of informatization" apply computer skills at work about a half of respondents, the second half never uses the computer and the Internet at work. Confirmation of existence of interrelation between functional literacy and use of skills in workplaces in general is received, correlation, significant at the level of 0,01 is found. Indicators of correlation communication between literacy in a certain cognitive area and use of skills, despite the importance, are expressed poorly. Studying of empirical data in general, without heterogeneity of professional community of the country, belongs to restrictions of a research that can become the instruction on the further directions of the analysis.
