Comparative Analysis of Patients' Satisfaction of Medical Services’ Quality in Public and Private Hospitals

The results of the study of satisfaction with the quality of medical services accurately reflect both positive and negative trends and reveal the factors that reduce patients’ satisfaction with medical care. This makes possible to take corrective actions at the proper time and serves as an objective basis for making decisions by medical organization management. Patients’ satisfaction as an essential element of the quality of medical services has been comprehensively studied in this work; an author's quantitative and qualitative study of consumers' perception of the quality of medical services in the outpatient sector of public and private hospitals has been carried out. As a result of the research the main directions for public medical organizations have been defined, specific recommendations for improving the quality of medical services in the outpatient sector of public medical and recommendations for assessing patients' satisfaction with the quality of medical services have been made. The main research methods are: a quantitative sociological research (110 respondents – patients from public and private medical organizations), a qualitative sociological research (in-depth interview with 15 respondents – patients from public and private medical organizations in Noginsk, Moscow region, and expert interview with 10 respondents – practicing doctors and specialists in the field of health care management and economy).
