Service Model Development for the Museum Portal «VMuseye»

This paper presents the service model development project for the museum portal «VMuzeye.ru». During the work analyzed the museum services on the Russian market, identified the needs of the museum institutions, analyzed legal restrictions in activity of museums, overviewed the market of museum services suppliers and formed practical recommendations for launching services, that includes the model and the conditions for the functioning. The main goal of this work paper - to develop a model of the service block on the museum portal and make recommendations for the launch of services. Achieving this goal is realized through the following objectives:  To conduct an analysis of the competitive environment in the museum service providers market;  To draw a portrait of the clients target groups and conduct in-depth interviews with representatives of museums;  To study the legal features of the museum’s activities regulating, as well as the peculiarities of their interaction with the commercial sector;  Analyze the services markets for the following services: crowdfunding, market research, advertising, recruiting, consulting; This study is an applied nature, the work has a design-research format. The main methodology is analysis of the theoretical base, legal acts, industry reports, modern methods of the new product development - Lean Customer Development and Lean Startup and traditional methods of the internal and external environment analysis, as well as competitive environment. The result of the work are formulated recommendations on the further services development on the portal and the conditions for their execution. The conclusions are supported by the analysis of the project financial indicators and risk assessment. The successful development of some products needs a test run of MVP, to assess the potential demand, consumers' willingness to pay for the product and testing models of interaction in terms of strict legal restrictions.
