Public Procurement of Food for Kindergartens

Providing of healthy meals for children is one of the main objectives of the ecological strategy of Russia. This task should be solved with the participation of kindergartens which use public procurement. However, despite the fact that public procurement of food for kindergartens should promote healthy food for children, and there is a mechanism for green public procurement of food, practice of application of this mechanism of green procurement is not universal. So the questions addressed by this study are how often ecological requirements apply in public procurement of food, and what prevents to spread of this practice. The research is based on the application of such methods as analysis of legal acts, interviews, questionnaires and analysis of the procurement documentation, developed. The result of this research is measures aimed at improving the environmental sustainability of the procurement of food for kindergartens.
