Over the recent years both researchers and managers investigated the phenomenon of personal engagement in order to form the concept that will help companies enhance their performance by increasing employees’ effectiveness and efficiency. The municipal organizations and zoos in particular have specific characteristics and limited finances; that is why they need to increase the personal engagement with less costs, adapting to their individual features. 66 employees have participated in the questionnaire, based on Q12 and UWES methodology, in order to measure the level of personal engagement in the Novosibirsk zoo and to establish the most common factors, affecting it. The level of personal engagement in a zoo is anticipated to be high due to specific characteristics and improving corporate ideology can increase it. This study definitely shows the correlation between specific organizational features and the level of personal engagement and establishes high level of personal engagement in zoos. Further studies are needed to measure this level in different organizations and set modal indicators for different spheres.
