Teaching Foreign Literature in Terms of Intercultural Communication

This research paper is devoted to the study of an innovative approach to teaching foreign literature, which consists in studying this discipline through the prism of intercultural communication. The proposed approach involves the study of cultural differences and allows us to open new facets of foreign literature for schoolchildren and students. The aim of the work is to develop methodological material for schoolchildren and students of higher educational institutions that demonstrates the application of knowledge in the field of intercultural communication in the process of teaching foreign literature and meets all the requirements of the modern educational process, namely, the use of computer technologies, films and the latest approaches to understanding foreign literature. The tasks proposed in this research paper are classified into groups. The classification is based on the competencies that the tasks are focused on. The objectives of this research work are as follows. First of all, this is the definition of such concepts as "culture", "communication", "intercultural communication", "mentality"," intercultural competence " and so on. The study reveals the relationship between the concepts mentioned above and their influence on each other. Further, the paper examines approaches to teaching foreign literature, changing trends in the course of history. The practical component of this research work focuses on the development of examples of tasks that demonstrate the importance of the intercultural aspect in the process of teaching foreign literature. The methods used in the process of creating this work, such as analysis, analogy, modeling and comparison, allow you to consider and study the subject at the level necessary to create the final product. The result of this research work is the development of tasks on the discipline " foreign literature for students in schools and higher education institutions. Performing these tasks requires knowledge in the field of intercultural communication and allows you to study the literature from this point of view. The relevance of this work lies in the fact that today intercultural communication is rapidly gaining popularity, knowledge of cultural differences and the skill of conducting a dialogue of cultures are among the most important in the modern world. At the same time, the relationship between intercultural communication and foreign literature has not been studied.
