Translating Foreign Words: the Case of Translation of “A Clockwork Orange” by E. Burgess into Russian

To achieve the aim, that is to find out the possible ways of translating Nadsat with saving translation representation both in a literary translation and in a multimedia translation, this paper explores various sources related to the theory of translation and translation strategies. The main focus is on the novel “A Clockwork Orange”, on the peculiarities of the language it is written in, on the two most common translations into Russian: by V.B. Boshnyak and by E. Sinelschikov, on the possible ways of its translation into Russian with no losses in the translation representation. The paper also presents the conception of multimedia translation so as to recognize whether there is the possibility to save translation representation in the movie “A Clockwork Orange” by S. Kubrick.
