The coronavirus pandemic has had a major impact on all areas of society around the world. The personnel policy of public sector organizations in general and the selection of new personnel in them are no exception. there are new requirements for candidates for employment in public sector organizations, and the methods of selecting new employees in the staff of organizations of this type are changing. The "non-working" days introduced in Russia, and then the self-isolation regime, and other restrictions increased the relevance of remote / remote work: employers transferred their employees to a working mode that created a large number of issues around them, such as working hours from home, communication between employees, etc. Even more important and necessary was the requirement of employers to be able to work with equipment, knowledge of information platforms, etc. In the course of this work, the selection of personnel in public sector organizations was considered, the main methods and their problems were identified, and the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on this process was assessed.
