Analysing the Process of Supplier Selection: Criteria and Methods

Procurement is recognized as one of the key functional areas of logistics, which purpose is to ensure that the company is provided with resources in the required quantity and appropriate quality in a timely manner. Thus, being one of the most significant tasks of supply logistics, the problem of supplier selection can be divided into two main areas: criteria and methods. Through an integrated approach to the analysis of the procurement business process, the key criteria and methods used by a large Russian company were identified. Also two process models "AS-IS" and "TO-BE" were visualized.
