The Formation of Socio-Cultural Competence of Primary School Students in the Process of Classroom and Extracurricular Work

This research addresses the main issues related to the formation of socio-cultural competence in primary school students in the course of classroom and extracurricular activities, since this problem is relevant for teachers of English as a foreign language. First of all, the communicative competence will be described and a brief description of its components will be given, the concept of socio-cultural competence will be presented. Moreover, the main features of teaching primary school students from both a pedagogical and psychological point of view will be outlined. Finally, the main methods of forming socio-cultural competence will be considered, covering both classroom and extracurricular activities. The practical part of the work includes the analysis of educational materials for primary school students in order to identify shortcomings and suggest solutions for improving and supplementing the materials. Plans for the organization of extracurricular activities will also be developed, aimed at the formation of socio-cultural competence.
