Relevance of the study: Today soft skills development is becoming a necessary requirement among employees, because soft skills ensure high productivity and competitiveness of an employee in the labor market. Today, there is a high competition among a huge number of competent specialists, trained in professional skills, where the winner is the one who has soft skills along with hard skills. Research problem: The factory is a bureaucratic enterprise, where soft skills development has not been paid much attention before. In this regard, employees are selected based on professional qualifications, and are sharpened to perform certain technical skills. However, this becomes insufficient as soft skills become not only necessary but also unavoidable in everyday and professional life. Problem Solution: The research was conducted at AO “ODK – Aviadvigatel” in the department of construction and reconstruction of objectives under the PD-35 program. The department employees were divided into three groups (management, engineers and specialists) and interviewed in order to identify the importance and development level of key soft skills. Next, a compliance model of importance and skill development was created to further develop recommendations. Results: A correlation between importance and development was identified. The most important among all staff and at the same time undeveloped block was "Problem solving and decision making". Time and resource optimization skills were the strongest. Conclusion: The study resulted in recommendations for developing the weakest soft skills for the three job categories. The recommendations can be useful for the human resources department to improve the staff training program taking into account the development of soft skills.
