The company's personnel is its leading asset, the engine of its development and ensuring competitiveness in the market. In turn, personnel development is a key area in the personnel management and plays a major role in ensuring the successful operation of the company. In this regard, companies need to understand which of the tools for personnel development should be used to achieve the most effective results. This study was conducted for the company «Kairos Engineering», which is engaged in the design of industrial facilities. Now, the company is just forming personnel management, including the personnel development system, while the company is switching to a completely new design methodology – BIM-design, which requires training of the main part of employees. As a result, the problem of this study is what instruments can be used to improve the personnel development system in «Kairos Engineering». For this study, I examined the existing system of personnel development in the company through the analysis of documentation, semi-structured interviews with the CEO and HR manager, as well as a survey of the company's employees. The results of the study showed that the company has several development instruments, such as: training, rotation, development while performing work tasks. The survey showed that in general, employees are satisfied with the existing development system, but it is not fully understood. In this regard, it was recommended to use the employee journey map to visualize the employee's path in the company, as well as to create an individual employee development plan.
