The master’s (MSc) programme in System and Software Engineering offered by HSE University’s Faculty of Computer Science aims to train professional system administrators, project managers, and development team leaders in the area of industrial software production, information and communication technologies, and systems analysis. Unique in Russia, the programme follows a curriculum that is fully in line with international guidelines on teaching integrated software and systems engineering in university master’s programmes.
The System and Software Engineering programme is designed for students and early-career professionals who are interested in continuing their education at the masters (MSc) level and pursuing advanced careers in data analysis, development management, advanced databases, and applied systems analysis. An important part of the educational process revolves around teamwork in a typical software development environment, participation in team projects as part of certain courses in the programme, and real team projects offered during internships in Russian and international companies specializing in developing and managing software projects.

Applicants to the programme are selected on the basis of their portfolio, which includes both required and optional components.
