Academic leave
Starting from 17 September, the procedure for submitting applications for academic and other types of leave, as well as for early return from leave, will change.
Key changes:
- Applications must be submitted exclusively online via the Unified Application Service in the LMS. The following types of applications are available:
- Academic leave may be granted if the student is unable to complete the study programme due to medical reasons, military service, or other exceptional circumstances. Taking academic leave for the purpose of launching a university startup is no longer an option.
- Academic leave granted for other exceptional circumstances may not exceed one year. The decision to grant such leave is made by the University Commission.
- Academic leave cannot be granted if the student is unable to combine studies at HSE with work or studies at another educational institution, or due solely to financial difficulties and/or inability to pay tuition fees.
