Language processing in mild cognitive impairment
Mild cognitive impairment is an intermediate condition between typical age-related cognitive changes and severe cognitive deficits (dementia). In collaboration with colleagues from Mental Health Hospital No. 1 named after N. A. Alexeev and Memory Clinic, we investigate what happens to the language function in MCI: (1) What aspects of language production and comprehension are vulnerable, and which tend to remain intact? (2) What is the relation between language and cognitive changes? Can language measures help to predict further disease progression?
