The Center for Language and Brain HSE University (Moscow, Russia) invites you to take part in our XI annual international Summer neurolinguistics school. The School will be held on 3–5 July 2024


The topic of the upcoming School is Children’s speech: developmental mechanisms and diagnostic tools (linguistic approach). The School will be devoted to the research in the development of speech and language skills in children. 


This year we will focus on the methodological component of studies on children’s speech. In addition to key-note lectures and poster presentations the School will also feature limited workshops on the instruments designed by the teams from the Center for Language and Brain. These instruments are used for assessing different aspects of the language system and cognitive functions important for speech and language development in children.

The School will also feature short oral talks and poster presentations.


The School program will include:

  • Keynote lectures on speech and language development in children from the guest speakers working in different fields of research and practice

  • Confirmed oral and poster presentations

  • Workshops on the use of different instruments for assessing language skills and cognitive functions in children


Who should be interested?

This year’s School will be of interest to researchers and practitioners in the fields of Linguistics (both theoretical and experimental), Neuropsychology, Speech Therapy, Defectology, Education and other related fields. We suppose that participation in our School will be relevant both for students and advanced specialists.  


Participation format

The School will be held mainly offline, in the HSE University, Moscow (full address will be announced later). However, the first day of the School (3rd of July) will be held in a blended format. Apart from the offline events, there will be online lectures from the invited foreign speakers, which will be available to other keynote speakers as well. School participants will have an opportunity to participate either online or offline, for further discussion. The other days of the School (4th and 5th of July) will be held fully offline.


Registration fees 

Students (HSE University): free
Students (other universities and schools): 700 RUB (appr. 7 EUR)
Non-students: 1200 RUB (appr. 12 EUR)


Important dates

  • Abstract submission opens: 1 April 2024

  • NEW DEADLINE: Abstract submission closes on 20 April 25 April 2024. Notifications of acceptance will be sent till May 15, 2024

  • Registration opens: May 2024 (to be announced)

  • Registration closes: June 2024 (to be announced) 

  • The School will be held: 3–5 July 2024

Important information

  • XI annual Summer neurolinguistics school will be held mainly offline in Moscow. In order to participate online during the first School day (3rd of July) participants should be registered for all three School days (3–5 July). 

  • Registration and registration fee payment are necessary for participating in the School (for those who will participate as a listener and as a presenter).

  • We encourage participation with a presentation. Authors of the most outstanding abstracts will be invited to participate with a short oral talk (10-15 min).

  • The official School’s working language this year is Russian.
