Svetlana Dorofeeva at the Scientific and Practical Conference held as a part of the International Dyslexia Awareness Week

Svetlana Dorofeeva, a member of the HSE Center for Language and Brain, spoke at the Scientific and Practical Conference "School Difficulties: Modern strategies for helping children", organized by the Russian Association of Parents and Children with Dyslexia, and co-organized by the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts.

The conference is held within the framework of the International Dyslexia Awareness Week, the purpose of which is to draw public attention to the problem of this specific learning disability.

Svetlana Dorofeeva told a wide range of specialists and parents of children with dyslexia about the battery of tests for assessing phonological processing skills (RuToPP), which was developed at the HSE. Phonological processing impairments are not the only, but one of the most common causes of dyslexia. This battery of tests is aimed at identifying in a reliable and valid way those children, who need help in developing phonological skills for successful reading acquisition.
