HSE University Launches New Service to Help Students Find Roomates and Accommodation

The Homeet service is in the testing stage

September 21 marked the launch of the test version of Homeet, a service that helps students find roomates and choose accommodation together. The service is currently available only in Russian.

Homeet is currently in open beta. Users can create an account by signing into the site using their MyHSE Services Account details, then search for a roommate or room that meets their requirements. Students can also post their own notices to find one or more roommates.

Homeet was created by students from the ‘Bizness v stilye .RU’ student IT community. The team of marketing specialists, designers, and developers created the product from scratch. The service also has support from the university administration—HSE’s servers enable the site to handle a large amount of active users.

Semyon Soldatov

Manager and Developer of the Homeet project

Homeet helps students of HSE University to find roommates or vacant rooms in rented apartments, as well as team up with others to find accommodation together. The service is only available to HSE University students, because we know for sure that HSE is a community with a place for trust and good relationships with your neighbours.

This also helps to ensure the safety of the service. There are no anonymous users or realtors on Homeet—only notices that have undergone strict moderation. The service is free and there are no commissions, because the main mission of the project is to dispel myths about a lack of choice when it comes to accommodation, as well as to help students find friends and save money.

The service is currently in the open beta testing stage. Users can test the available features and send feedback to the Homeet team, who are working to improve existing features and add new ones. In the future, it will be possible to search for and rent out apartments, view all notices together on a map, and search for roommates based on personal recommendations.

The team posts updates about the service on Telegram. Visitors to the channel can join the Homeet community, find answers to their questions, and learn about the platform in more detail.
