HSE Extreme Sports Club invites students, lecturers, and graduates of all HSE campuses as well as their families and friends to spend a week in Finland from 31st January to 6th February 2016. Finland is a great destination if you enjoy snowboarding, ice fishing and other winter activities. Registration is open until December 31.

A new exhibition devoted to France has opened at HSE’s Nizhny Novgorod campus. The exhibition was organized by Gennady Ryabov, who is an advisor to HSE Nizhny Novgorod’s Director, the creator of the ‘Cultural Environment’ project, and Honorary Consul of the French Republic in Nizhny Novgorod.

Mega Hackathon took place in seven cities all over Russia – Moscow, Kazan, Perm, Tomsk, Petrozavodsk, Ivanovo, and Yaroslavl. A five-person team of students from the Faculty of Business Informatics took home the top prize at the event in Perm.

The sports tourism contest where teams of four (hence the name) compete against each other was held in the Greater Moscow Area. Hundreds of teams from all over Russia and Belarus took part. HSE was represented by 11 students and 3 alumni. The events included long distance running and crossing ravines with ropes.

The survey is conducted to collect opinions of the academic staff on the university development strategy and current activities, and to measure their satisfaction with different aspects of work at HSE. The survey comprises questions on changes, new initiatives and various services offered by the university. Staff feedback is crucial to ensure interesting, diverse and productive work environment.

The student society Green HSE and the School of Design are organising a marathon transforming old electronics into art. Art Electronics Days began on 29th October and will end with the announcement of a winner on 20th November.

HSE is holding elections for the Student Council and for the post of Student Ombudsman or  rights defender. Grant allocations and student expulsions, financing student projects and renewing degree courses are just a few of the things student self-governing bodies are involved in but it’s enough to show why every student should vote.
