On June 10 and 11, 2026, second-year students of the "Russian as a Foreign Language" Master's program defended their graduation theses

On June 5, 2026, first-year Master’s students in the "Russian as a Foreign Language" program defended their term papers.

On May 27, 2026, the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language (RFI) hosted an interactive meeting for international students, which covered topics such as academic ethics, social norms, Russian values, gender etiquette, and digital security.

From March 24 to 30, the 54th International Scientific Philological Conference named after Lyudmila Alekseevna Verbitskaya was held at Saint Petersburg State University.

On February 27–28, 2026, the School of Russian as a Foreign Language (RFL) of the Faculty of Humanities held its first Winter Online School for International Applicants.

From May 12 to September 30, 2026, the "Masters of the Russian Language" competition was held. It was organized by the Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU) and Rossotrudnichestvo.
Ekaterina Sineva, a second-year master's student in the "Russian as a Foreign Language" program, became one of the competition's finalists.

On December 4, 2025, Evgenia Andreevna Smolovskaya, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language, took part in the jury of the 5th International Contest "The Best Russian School Abroad" (organized by the Center for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation).

On November 21, 2025, Olga Sergeevna Eremina, Head of the School of Russian as a Foreign Language, participated as an expert in the All-Russian Forum "Training. Examination. Digital: New Formats and Tools for Developing Russian as a Foreign Language" (organized with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation).

On November 14, 2025, Natalia Muravleva, Academic Supervisor of the educational program “Russian as a Foreign Language in Cross-Linguistic and Cross-Cultural Perspective,” delivered a lecture entitled "Complex Cases of Russian Grammar: Verbs of Motion" to third-year Russian language students as part of a long-term academic internship at the Department of Slavic Studies, Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade (Republic of Serbia).

Senior lecturer of the School of Russian as a Foreign Language Anastasia Ivanenko from the 24th of October to the 1st of November took part in an educational expedition to Tajikistan.
