International Summer School in Bremerhaven

In the beginning of August 2013 the Research Group employee Irene Pervushina participated in Summer School in Germany, based in Bremerhaven University of Applied Science. Irene shared her impression about this event and told about experience she got there.

Irene tells about participation in SS-2013 in small german city Bremerhaven the following:

When I applied for Bremerhaven International Summer School, I thought, that it would be a great trip in order to get intercultural experience, to communicate with colleagues from different parts of the world, to share knowledge with them and get authoritative opinion on my research field. After attendance of this SS I can say that all my expectations are approved.

Bremerhaven however is not only a place for doing some studies, the policy of SS organizators  is to combine learning with leisure activities. Despite the fact, that students spend six hours participating lectures and master-classes every day, there are a lot of other interesting events – sightseeing, parties, games and so on.

Classes we had were incredibly interesting, all the professors were really charismatic and passionate about their objects, so all the students felt involved. During the course “Change management” we learned how to organize innovations in the company properly and how to inspire employees to come up with new ideas; we also learned some financial aspects of debt collecting and got some practical training on supply chain management. Furthermore we had very interesting master-classes about Cloud Technologies and learned how to keep safety using Internet.

All things considered, it was a great experience for me in professional and personal way – I learned a lot of things and met a plenty of nice and interesting people, I practiced my English and presentation skills and even danced tango.
