On January 20 Sergey Startsev (Research Assistant, International Laboratory for Social Inclusion Research, National Research University Higher School of Economics) took part in the "Culture matters" research seminar with the report "Not to know, but to be afraid: sources and ways to overcome cancerophobia".

An article “Staying Out of Trouble: Criminal Cases Against Russian Mayors” by Noah Buckley, Ora John. Reuter,  Michael Rochlitz, Anton Aisin was published in Comparative Political Studies.

Researchers from HSE University and St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (SPSUACE) used eye tracking to study how residents who own cars and those who don’t look at the shared courtyards of multistorey apartment buildings. The study was published in Urban Forestry & Urban Greening.

On January 19 (Wednesday), 2022, a regular meeting of the all-Moscow scientific seminar "Mathematical Methods of Decision Analysis in Economics, Business and Politics" took place at the National Research University "Higher School of Economics".

Aleena Khan, from Pakistan, is currently pursuing a master's in Comparative Social Research at HSE University, Moscow. Despite studying online in the first semester, she already feels part of the HSE student community. In her interview, Aleena talks about the admissions process, her favourite courses, and her general impressions.

Research Assistant Daniel Lebedev has joined the Organazing Committee of the European Survey Research Association (ESRA). 

The HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge, in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation and Rosstat, has released new pocket data book in the ‘Digital Economy’ series. The publication presents a wide range of indicators describing the state and dynamics of the digital economy development in Russia. For some indicators, international comparisons are available, and for the first time a section on the children and teenagers’ engagement in the digital environment is included.

Professor Linda J. Cook has been a discussant at the Political Economy Workshop at the University of Bremen, which was held online on 11 January 2022.
