Seminar "Expert opinion and data analysis"

On Wednesday, March 23, the National Research University Higher School of Economics hosted a seminar "Expert opinion and data analysis".

Theme: Structured Preferences: A Review of Research
Speaker: Karpov A. (HSE, IPU RAS)

Annotation:
A review of works on mathematical models of preferences used in the voting problem and the problem of finding stable matchings has been carried out. Practically significant restrictions on the preference profile of the collective are considered: single-peak preferences, separable preferences, preferences with a single intersection, Euclidean preferences, and their extensions. Characterization through forbidden subprofiles, the probability of a profile with a given property, and basic algorithmic applications are presented for structured preferences.
