What to Expect from Science in 2017: Neurolinguistics
In 2017, we expect neurolinguisitcs to continue developing such applications as standardized tests for speech deficiencies. Furthermore, there should be further joint work among neurolinguists and surgeons, as well as new emerging neurolinguistics-oriented therapeutic studies with the application of various neurovisualizational methods.

On 8 December ISSEK hosted a discussion of best R&D and/or S&T management practices applied by academic organisations. Leading science, technology and education experts discussed conceptual models of R&D management, analysed various aspects of measuring academic organisations’ performance, and debated whether it would be at all possible to develop any universal success recipes.

On 9 December, 2016 HSE ISSEK in partnership with Microsoft organised seminar “Cybersecurity. The role of government; business and society”. Kaja Ciglic, Sr. Cybersecurity Strategist, Microsoft, discussed geopolitical trends of global cybersecurity and various initiatives in this space proposed by different stakeholders with the students and faculty.

HSE Hosted a Round Table Discussion of the Role of Financial Technologies in Development of the Financial Sector

On 13 December, the Higher School of Economics jointly with the Bank of Russia hosted a round table discussion “Financial technologies and the future of the banking sector”. Vadim Kalukhov, director of the RF Central Bank’s Financial Technologies, Projects, and Process Organisation Department, made a presentation on major relevant trends and the Bank of Russia’s key projects.

LATNA Laboratory of NRU Higher School of Economics entered into a partner agreement with KPMG
Laboratory of Algorithms and Technologies for Network Analysis (LATNA), which belongs to the National Research University Higher School of Economics, entered into a collaboration agreement with one of the biggest international companies KPMG, which performs consulting and audit services. The collaboration implies cooperative work on projects for the Russian and international markets, which require mastery in intellectual data analysis, computer-aided instruction and solution for complex optimization tasks.
