On 13 December, the Higher School of Economics jointly with the Bank of Russia hosted a round table discussion “Financial technologies and the future of the banking sector”. Vadim Kalukhov, director of the RF Central Bank’s Financial Technologies, Projects, and Process Organisation Department, made a presentation on major relevant trends and the Bank of Russia’s key projects.
Laboratory of Algorithms and Technologies for Network Analysis (LATNA), which belongs to the National Research University Higher School of Economics, entered into a collaboration agreement with one of the biggest international companies KPMG, which performs consulting and audit services. The collaboration implies cooperative work on projects for the Russian and international markets, which require mastery in intellectual data analysis, computer-aided instruction and solution for complex optimization tasks.
HSE International Center for the Study of Institutions and Development (ICSID), NES Center for the Study of Diversity and Social Interactions in cooperation with the seminar “Political Economy” held their regular joint Research Seminar on Diversity and Development on December 13, 2016.
The Higher School of Economics designed the Development Strategy for the Rehabilitation Industry 2030, commissioned by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. The strategy was presented by Leonid Gokhberg, HSE First Vice Rector and ISSEK Director, at the 1st National Rehabilitation Industry and Universal Design Forum “Relying on Technology” held on 1 December at Skolkovo.
Angel Barajas, leading research fellow of IDLAB, has presented the research ''Non-usual football stadiums: only comfort level matters'' on the IDLAB workshop. It was stated that playing matches in non-usual stadium decreases the demand for tickets, however, good stadiums can moderate this negative effect.
Last week HSE International Advisory Committee held its annual meeting in Moscow. Eric Maskin, Nobel laureate in Economics, 2007, Chairman of the Committee and members of the IAC have talked to HSE News Service about the results of the meeting.
On December 6, Prof. Fons van de Vijver (Tilburg University, the Netherlands), took part in the "Culture Matters" research seminar with the report on "Introduction to Cross-Cultural Psychology".
In his address to the Federal Assembly Vladimir Putin mentioned that on 1 December he has signed the decree on the Russian S&T Development Strategy. HSE ISSEK experts participated in development of this document since 2015, in particular organising work groups and expert panels.
