of managers at large and medium-sized Russian industrial companies report that the financial and economic situation of their enterprises was ‘satisfactory’. These data are presented in a new Monitoring the Business Climate at Industrial Enterprises study that was conducted in July 2015 by the Centre for Business Tendency Studies at the HSE ISSEK.

These data are presented in a study by Ruslan Saygitov and Alexander Chulok, researchers at the HSE ISSEK Foresight Centre, entitled ‘Cardiovascular Disease in the Context of the Socio-economic Priorities of Russia’s Long-term Development’.

From Google Scholar to RSCI: Why Indexing is Necessary on Personal Pages

The Higher School of Economics is introducing new requirements for staff’s personal pages. Our colleagues who conduct research and teach are now required to list the following identifiers on their pages: ORCID, Researcher ID, Scopus Author ID, SPIN-RSCI code, and Google Scholar. Ivan Sterligov, the head of the analytics department in the HSE Office of Academic Expertise, tells us why this will benefit both the university and the researchers themselves.

These data were obtained in a survey of teachers at institutions of higher education that was carried out as part of a Monitoring of Education Markets and Organisations study conducted by HSE in collaboration with the Levada Centre in 2014.

The first working day in Voronovo

The 5th LCSR Summer School started this Saturday in Voronovo, Moscow. The renown scientists, many graduate students and young researchers from various fields within social sciences came here to meet and discuss their scientific interests and progress in projects.

Workshop 'Nonparametric and High-dimensional Statistics'

On July 20-21 an international workshop 'Nonparametric and High-dimensional Statistics' took place in Heidelberg, Germany. The event was organised by the Laboratory of Stochastic Analysis and its Applications, Research Training Group 'Statistical Modeling of Complex Systems and Processes' Heidelberg / Mannheim and MAThematics Center Heidelberg.

New publication

An article "The Impacts of Different Regulatory Regimes on the Effectiveness of Public Procurement" was published online in the "International Journal of Public Administration" in July 2015. The paper was co-authored by the IIMS researchers Andrei Yakovlev, Andrei Tkachenko, Olga Demidova and Olga Balaeva.
