On September 8 Julia A. Logashenko (senior lecturer of Psychology & Social Work Department, Baltic Federal University by I. Kant, Kaliningrad) took part in the «Culture matters» research seminar with the report on "Model of intercultural sensitivity: the results of a study of student samples".

Game Theory Research Set to Expand in St. Petersburg

Research on game theory has a strong history in Russia, and this year’s opening of the new HSE International Laboratory for Game Theory and Decision-Making in St. Petersburg will only help it grow stronger. Leading the laboratory, which will include researchers from the St. Petersburg Institute for Economics and Mathematics, will be Herve Moulin, Donald J. Robertson Chair of Economics at the Adam Smith Business School at the University of Glasgow. Prof. Moulin is a scholar who is known for his research contributions in mathematical economics, in particular in the fields of mechanism design, social choice, game theory and fair division.

Mariya Molodchik participated in 75th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management

On August 7-11 the 75th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management was held in Vancouver. Over 9500 participants from 90 countries took part in the event.

Workshop 'Nonparametric and High-dimensional Statistics'

On July 20-21 an international workshop 'Nonparametric and High-dimensional Statistics' took place in Heidelberg, Germany. The event was organised by the Laboratory of Stochastic Analysis and its Applications, Research Training Group 'Statistical Modeling of Complex Systems and Processes' Heidelberg / Mannheim and MAThematics Center Heidelberg.

ESRA 15 Conference in Iceland

The 6th conference of the European Survey Research Association titled “Reykjavik is the Capital of Parsimony” took place in Reykjavik, Iceland. Among the LCSR members who presented at ESRA 15, there were four staff members and three associate researchers.

Foresight Courses in Manchester: Evolution of HSE Expert Participation

The annual foresight courses which have been running at Manchester University since 1999 are considered some of the most prestigious and important for researchers of the future. In July 2015 two researchers at the Foresight Centre at ISSEK who have been students on the courses themselves have been invited this year to come and teach.
