This summer and autumn, many HSE faculties will be changing their addresses.
On July 25, upon the approval of the Moscow City Construction Supervision and the Department of Cultural Heritage of Moscow, HSE University’s new Pokrovka complex opened its doors. The complex, located at 11 Pokrovsky Boulevard, is HSE’s largest and most modern Moscow campus. Classes will begin there in September.
When the reconstruction is completed, HSE University’s largest library branch yet is set to open on Pokrovsky Boulevard. Library Director Natalia Maximova spoke with HSE University Life about how this library will be different from others on HSE’s Moscow campus.
Portrait galleries of renowned scientists, research laboratories right next to large classrooms and auditoriums, educational programmes for students and principals – these are just a few of the things discussed during an excursion around the HSE Institute of Education as part of the Open House project. Victoria Malova, a second-year student in the Evidence-Based Education Policy master’s programme, and Denis Federiakin, a second-year student in the Measurement in Psychology and Education master’s programme, served as the tour guides for the day.
On March 19, 2019, HSE hosted a launch ceremony for its new India Corner, which is housed in the School of Asian Studies and will serve as an open space for dialogue and collaboration with regard to Russia-India relations. The Corner will host cultural and scientific events related to the modern development of India, as well as open business seminars between Russia and India.
This is the fourth food point in the building – there are already two cafeterias and a cafe . In addition to traditional food-serving counters, the new cafeteria will feature a salad bar and an open kitchen, where Italian pizza will be cooked.
It will be located in Building B and is an addition to the existing library in Building A. The new library will be a space not only for those willing to go somewhere private with a book or a tablet, but also for teams who need to get together to discuss joint research projects. The library opens on January 16 at noon. The first 300 visitors will get to participate in a prize draw, which will introduce the readers to the library’s collection.
The acquisition of new venues can improve the conditions for studies and research at these campuses.
The HSE Social Committee and Student Councils at faculties have carried out a student survey on HSE cafeterias. The comments have been discussed at a meeting between students and catering providers at HSE buildings.
