Demographic results of the first half of 2018 in Russia (Part II). The number of deaths and the crude death rate have again begun to increase. In 2017, life expectancy at birth for both sexes increased to 72.7 years. In January-June, 2018, mortality from neoplasms and diseases of the digestive, nervous and endocrine systems increased. Mortality from external causes decreased by 4% compared to the first half of 2017. Among those who died in 2017 of some infectious and parasitic diseases, 64% had not reached the age of 45; among those who died from external causes - 44%. Infant mortality in the first half of 2018 decreased to 5.1 ‰. The reduction of mortality at working age has slowed down.
