Lexical amiguity resolution

Lexical access is critical for successful comprehension. The present study investigated online mechanisms of lexical access and ambiguity resolution in native speakers of Russian with and without aphasia. How access to the meanings of words that we hear is happening? If a word has more than two meanings (such as, for example, for the word) do both meanings become available or they become available one after the other? What does it depend on? Are there specific types of lexical access deficiencies for different types of aphasia? We investigate these questions using method of tracking eye-movements. Research participants look at the screen where in the corners there are 4 pictures and listen to short stories, such as, for example:


A technician was getting ready for the repair works for an hour. Eventually he found a screw. Then he fixed the crane with leaking water.
