The programme for higher education staff and everyone interested in developing qualitative research skills to better understand modern youth will start at September 15.

On May 22-23 in Kanatnyy Tsekh building was held II Interregional Student Science Conference 'Social Field'. Researchers from the Centre for Youth Studies participated as speakers and moderators of sessions. In this article we share the impressions of participants and organisers.

The team of Centre for Youth Studies at HSE University organised a series of presentations on results of the project 'Resilience and creative potential of the youth of the North Caucasian region in the context of educational and labor migration', which is supported by Russian Science Foundation. In April researchers presented findings from the fieldwork in Nalchik and Vladikavkaz and discussed migration intentions of the youth, local identities and development of creative spaces in North Caucasus cities with colleagues, students and representatives from creeative industries.

The researchers of the Centre participated in XXVI April International Academic Conference named after Evgeny Yasin with the results of the projects about 'student' sciences, stand-up, and creativity of the youth of the North Caucasus.

In the recent issue of Sociological Research in 2026, two articles by CYS researchers based on the materials of expeditions to the North Caucasus were published at once. Elena Omelchenko and Irina Lisovskaya look at how young people in the cities of the region explain their migration intentions. In their article, Evgenia Kuziner and Natalia Solovyova analyze the practices of youth creativity by comparing two cases (Nalchik and Pyatigorsk).

The  CYS team is working on the creation of a monograph based on the materials of projects supported by the Russian Science Foundation. The first step is a creative writing course from the HSE teachers, for vivid style and creative inspiration. We will tell you how the preparation is going and share our colleagues' impressions of the first stages of work.

We are pleased to announce that the new Master's program "Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation" at HSE St. Petersburg has been officially approved!

A researcher at the Center for Youth Studies shared with colleagues her impressions of a three-week internship at the University of Delhi, spoke about the differences in scientific activity in the practice of the two countries and presented the personal results of the trip.

Evgeniya Kuziner, academic supervisor of the new Master's programme 'Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation', came back after the internship at the University of Delhi (India). For three weeks, she explored local research practices, searched for like-minded scientists, and planned joint projects. Read on to find out about the trip to the Taj Mahal.

On January 28, at 16:00, a seminar of the Centre for Youth Studies will be held in a hybrid format, where researcher Evgenia Kuziner will present the main results of an academic internship at the University of Delhi (Delhi School of Economics, Department of Sociology), which took place from November 17 to December 8, 2025.

On December 5, 2025, seminars were held by postgraduate students of the International Laboratory for Social Integration Research, Maxim Gurin and Ekaterina Dolgova.

On March 28, 2025, in Moscow, as part of the XV Grushin Conference, the sections "Inclusive Society: Challenges and Prospects of Human-Centricity" and "Human Capital in an Inclusive Society" were held. Experts discussed key barriers and drivers of inclusion in Russian society, paying special attention to issues of employment, education, representation in the media field and social policy.

The focus will be on young professionals from the regions involved in creative industries and contributing to the development of their cities. Creative industries include cultural heritage, art, media industry and functional creativity.
