HSE Researchers Discover Nucleotide Sequence Responsible for Effectively Fighting Pathologies
Researchers from HSE University have discovered nucleotide sequences characteristic of microRNA isoforms (microRNAs with errors). The discovery will help predict errors in microRNA behaviour and create drugs that can detect targets (such as viruses) more effectively. The results of the study have been published in the RNA Biology journal.

New article in "Nature Medicine"

An article "COVID-19 vaccine acceptance and hesitancy in low- and middle-income countries" co-authored by Georgiy Syunyaev and Ekaterina Borisova among the multinational research team was published online in "Nature Medicine" yesterday. The article features data from an ICSID survey “Research on COVID-19 in Russian Regions (RoCiRR)”, which got 23 thousand responses across 61 Russian regions.

9,500 Foreign Doctoral Students Studied in Russia

In 2014-2020, the number of international doctoral students increased from 5,500 to 9,500 and their share grew from 4.6 to 10.8%, according to Rosstat data analyzed by HSE ISSEK. In 2020, the largest number of students came from China (2204 students) and Kazakhstan (1194 students). The share of doctoral students from the CIS countries did not exceed 30.5% for the first time during the period under review.
