The new issue of Foresight and STI Governance presents various aspects of the corporate sector’s innovation-based development: approaches to conducting Foresight studies, market evaluation of research-intensive companies, intellectual capital’s impact on firms’ performance. International experts assess the prospects for transboundary academic cooperation in the context of global geopolitical processes, and propose an “intelligent leadership” model for state universities.

The article by the chief researcher of the ILSCR John Berry and Feng Hou (University of Victoria) "Immigrant Acculturation and Wellbeing in Canada" was selected as the winner of the 2016 CPA Canadian Psychology (CP) Best Article Award according to the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA).

On April 3, 2017, the traditional HSE and International Energy Prize “Global Energy” joint foresight session was held at the Higher School of Economics, marking the announcement of the Prize. Its participants discussed structural changes in the energy sector until 2050, in particular, global trends in this sector, conservative and visionary scenarios for its development and proposals for politicians.

On April 6 Tsunyan L. (Professor of Heilongjiang University, China) took part in the "Culture matters" research seminar with the report on "Cross-cultural study of the attitude towards the love of Chinese and Russian students".

Some of the ICSID researchers took part in the annual Conference of the British Association for Slavonic and East European Studies (BASEES), which was held in Cambridge, United Kingdom, on March 31 – April 2, 2017.

Researchers from the Higher School of Economics (HSE) have developed a novel system for assessing the potential of renewable energy resources. This method can help to assess the future exploitable technical potential of wind and solar PV energy, as well as their capacity to replace exiting generation assets. Furthermore, it can forecast fossil fuel savings and facilitate reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. Their research has been published in journal Energy: “Wind and Solar PV Technical Potentials: Measurement Methodology and Assessments for Russia”.

The World Values Survey Association is organizing two thematic panels at the WAPOR Annual Conference (15-17 July 2017, Lisbon, Portugal), and invites all interested scholars to join exciting discussions on population values, norms and beliefs and their role for social and political development of contemporary societies.
