Researchers at the HSE Laboratory of Molecular Physiology, Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, have shown that oxygen deprivation in placental cells and preeclampsia consistently reduce the levels of several isoforms of microRNA hsa-miR-143-3p. This increases the activity of the HK2 and SERPINE1 genes and triggers glycolytic reprogramming of cells. The results were published in Doklady Biological Sciences.

AST Publishing House has released "The New Tomorrow: How We Will Live, Learn, and Work in the Future," whose first chapter, "How Will We Be Treated?," draws on interviews with HSE University researchers. Among the experts featured are Evgeny N. Knyazev, Head of the Laboratory of Molecular Physiology at the HSE Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, who discussed personalized oncology, cancer immunotherapy, and tumor-on-a-chip technology, and Maxim Y. Shkurnikov, Deputy Dean of the Faculty and Head of the Laboratory of Longevity Research Mechanisms, who explained the promise of molecular blood-based diagnostics.

The International Youth Festival (IYF) will be held in Yekaterinburg from 11 to 17 September 2026. HSE University will take an active part in the event. The university's booth will present a space settlement mock-up, robots, and the iFORA big data analysis system. Fifty HSE students will visit festival venues, and experts will participate in the business programme.
