In this article we describe the final day of the International workshop “Social Inequality and Polarization Value: A Cross-Country Perspective”.

On May 20, Days of the International Academy of Education kicked off at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow. Experts from all over the world who focus on global education policy trends will meet up across a number of HSE venues to engage in vibrant, multi-format networking, including lectures, workshops, Q&A sessions, etc. They will share their experience with Russian researchers, instructors and policymakers over the course of three days.

The 7^th session of the research seminaron Diversity and Development - 2019 was held in the HSE campus at Shabolovka on April 23.

A workshop: “The Rise of State Capitalism: consequences for economic and political development” organized by ICSID and  the European Association for Comparative Economic Studies (EACES) was held at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow on April 10-11, 2019.

At the XX April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development, ANR-Lab organized its own section "Network Analysis". 

The article “Why an American's arrest in Russia could set off a 'flight of foreign investors' is dedicated to the case of of 51-year-old American entrepreneur Michael Calvey, who was arrested on charges of theft of 2.5 billion rubles some time ago.

A new book by the Member of the WVSA Governing Board Pippa Norris (Harvard University, Massachusetts) and WVSA Founding President Ronald Inglehart (University of Michigan, Ann Arbor) “Cultural Backlash: Trump, Brexit, and Authoritarian Populism” is being published now by Cambridge University Press.

On January 28, HSE and the Korea-Russia Science and Technology Cooperation Centre (KORUSTEC) jointly hosted a Korean-Russian Open Lecture on Science and Technology Policy at HSE University in Moscow. Founded in 1990 following a Korean-Russian Cooperation Agreement, KORUSTEC was re-opened in 2007 as the Moscow office of the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF), bringing together six similar centres in various Russian cities (NRF is similar to the USA’s National Science Foundation).

A hosted lecture by Professor Eric Maskin "How to Improve Presidential Elections" at the Faculty of Economic Sciences on December 13 was followed by by the meeting of the  DeCAn lab Staff with the Nobel Laureate.
